Bricks and Brands
The most memorable spaces are felt. By placing brand at the heart, we collaborate to create spaces where narrative, movement, and emotion work as one.
brand is often an afterthought
Brand is often the last guest invited into a building. A logo on the wall, the tone of voice in a brochure, added once the concrete has set. In our experience, that’s where the problems start.
When brand isn’t embedded from the outset, architecture has to work twice as hard. Visitor journeys feel bolted on, story fights with circulation, and operational needs clash with the experiences people actually want to have. We’ve seen it, and we’ve seen what happens when the opposite is true; buildings can influence far more than bricks and mortar.
a masterplan that’s memorable
A brand’s spirit can come to life through the architecture of a building. It’s where the story, purpose, and space converge to create memorable, meaningful experiences. Our collaboration embeds a brand’s DNA at every stage, from master planning to visitor experience, going beyond the physical to create iconic, brand-driven environments.
When brand is at the heart of a building from the start, every decision, be it spatial, operational or experiential, works in sync. The result is a building that is a living piece of culture, and that’s something people remember.
navigating with narrative
Edinburgh Gin
The feeling of wonder Edinburgh Gin Distillery creates is no accident. It’s the brand’s core narrative coming to life within the space. This narrative shapes everything from how you enter the C-listed UNESCO site to how light and texture guide you through the space. The result is an immersive, sensorial journey through flavour and innovation.
Port Ellen
Port Ellen demanded a different balance: industrial heritage, heavy infrastructure and global whisky expectations. Here, the challenge was to keep the hard-working backbone of the site visible, while still crafting a welcoming, emotionally resonate experience that had innovation and experimentation at its heart.
Treating copper, brick and glass as more than materials helped create a space that was both efficient and enchanting. Traditional whisky cues were swapped for a high-fashion aesthetic, more contemporary art gallery than whisky distillery. The result is a space where architecture is as important as the art itself.
marrying old and new
Rosebank was a different challenge: respect the original architecture and heritage but also showcase where the brand was heading. We brought together yesterday, today and tomorrow, and created a space where people feel at home.
The distillery’s chimney was transformed into an iconic landmark which welcomes guests into the heart of the site and connects them to the canal. This industrial welcome contrasts with the open, sophisticated production space and the intimate tasting lounges. The result is a space where guests are invited to explore, linger and claim spaces as their own. The architecture at Rosebank is an active part of the brand.
brand first
Architecture can be so much more than a space and its structure. It can be a stage that brings to life compelling brand stories that connect, inspire and endure. For over two decades, we’ve collaborated with leading architects and engineers to create sensory, brand-first environments that leave a lasting mark on culture, communities and global audiences. Our work blends strategic insight, creative excellence, and an unfailing passion for delivering experiences with meaning.
