Australian-owned Pure Scot’s growing popularity among bartenders put them in the ideal spot to create a new product: premium whisky-based ready-to-drink cocktails.
Refreshing changes, big impact
To capture the momentum of the ready-to-drink category, Pure Scot wanted to extend their existing brand design to work with the new product and packaging format. Pure Scot is made with blended Scotch from Bladnoch distillery. Their first ready-to-drink product, Pure Scot and Tonic, was a world first, introducing their Scotch whisky to the Australian market and a completely new group of cocktail drinkers.
Pure Scot asked us to rework their current brand so it would extend across numerous expressions and crucially, still command attention in its smaller format. For the ready-to-drink cocktails, the existing branding – inspired by Scotland’s beautiful landscape – was enhanced with the use of a single colour and a striking outline.
With a second cocktail already in the pipeline – Pure Scot’s Virgin Oak & Smoked Cola – the new packs were designed so that customers would immediately recognise the Pure Scot brand while quickly distinguishing between the different cocktails. Customers could pick their favourite or discover something new.
When lined up on the shelf – or better yet, in the fridge – Pure Scot stands out as a unique product for the Australian market while making itself comfortably at home in this fast-growing drinks category.
